The summit of Southern Vermont’s highest peak is only a scenic ride away. Take the Gondola for views that stretch clear across four states including the White Mountains, Adirondacks, Berkshires and Green Mountain ranges. Hike the historic fire tower or explore any of your favorite winter trails and plan a picnic lunch. Ride down to explore the Stratton Village filled with retail shops and restaurants.

  • Tickets can be picked up and/or purchased the day of at the HUB, located by the gondola in the main Base Area.
  • The last Gondola cabin up is 4:30pm. The last ride down is 4:45pm, you must return to download by this time or you will not be able to ride back to the base area.

  • Child carriers are permitted on the Gondola only. You may not bring a child carrier on American Express.

Noted golf course architect Geoffrey Cornish took full advantage of natural contours, water and trees. The country’s fastest growing sport in terms of popularity, Pickleball is sweeping the nation with every person at every age playing the game.

Stratton has eight dedicated outdoor pickleball courts located at the Training and Fitness Center, with an additional eight being available for use during tournaments. These courts are available to book for you and your family and friends if you fancy trying this very approachable sport. If you’re looking to sharpen your skills, clinics and lessons are available throughout the day with the pro team.

Stratton Mountain Bike Park

The Stratton Bike Park features 10+ miles of downhill mountain bike trails with the same look and feel that are synonymous with Vermont mountain biking. The bike park trails are designed and built by Sinuosity, the noted trail builders from Vermont. Sinuosity has selected the natural terrain of the mountain and woven it together with machine-built lines and hand-shaped features creating fun and flowing elements designed for progression and excitement on the bike trails. The Stratton Bike Park has added many new routes since it first opened in 2019, we look forward to you returning for another ride, or come drop in for the first time.

UTV Mountain Tours

GUIDED TOUR FROM THE SUN BOWL TO THE SUMMIT

Take a tour to the summit side-by-side with a friend or family member with Stratton’s newest summer activity, UTV Tours. Jump in and get ready to drive as you’ll begin your adventure in the Sun Bowl and take the winding mountain routes up to the summit in your UTV. Take some time at the top to take it all in, snap a selfie, or get the adventurous group picture that everyone will try to be the first to post. Drivers must be 18 years old with a valid Drivers License. Passengers must be at least 6 years old to ride. Four people maximum per UTV. This tour takes approximately 75 minutes round trip.

Adventure up the outdoor climbing wall in the main base area. This outdoor climbing wall features auto belays so climbers can reach the top on their own. Climbers will be given a harness to climb as much as they want during their 30 min climbing session. An auto belay device automatically catches a climber who may come off the wall. Climbers must be a minimum of 40 inches tall and at least 5 years old. The weight limit is 250 lbs per guest.

  • Climbing Sessions are booked in 30 min time slots
  • Guests must be 40+ inches tall, 5 years old, and under 250 lbs
  • A harness is provided. Please wear sneakers or climbing shoes
  • Available most days the lifts are open for summer hours

PRACTICE YOGA AT STRATTON. BALANCE AND PERSPECTIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS

Have you ever tried a mountain pose, on top of a mountain? Take the gondola up to Southern Vermont’s highest peak for a relaxing 90-minute Mountain Top Yoga class. The summit of Stratton Mountain features a one-of-a-kind wooden yoga deck to comfortably host classes in a scenic setting surrounded by mountain high energy and views. Each class fee includes a lift ticket to ride the gondola to class and back down to the base area after the class.

  • Be sure to arrive at least 25 minutes prior to class to ensure you have enough time to check-in, ride to the summit and get settled on the deck before class.
  • The Gondola Ride is approximately 15 min to the summit.
  • Available Saturdays and Sundays, May 27 – September 17, 2023
  • Classes are from 11am-12:30pm

Winding roads, covered bridges, gravel grinds, rail trails, single track and local networks with quintessential Vermont villages and stops along the way make biking a favorite activity throughout spring, summer and fall. Find your new favorite road ride, climb single track to a scenic mountain vista, or catch downhill laps in the Stratton Bike Park. Riders of all ages, abilities and interests will find something to get their tires spinning around Stratton Mountain.

LOCAL ROUTES AND TRAIL SYSTEMS

There are wide variety of road and mountain bike routes near Stratton Mountain. Explore scenic roadways, cross-country trails, single-track climbs and downhill sends. Launch and entire bike excursion riding your favorite routes with Stratton as your home base. The local area is surrounded with road loops and trail networks. Be sure to pick up a map or preplan your route; some areas may be closed for wildlife conservation or may not have cell service. Explore southern Vermont from the saddle.

Local Swimming Holes

Keep Cool in the Green Mountains

When the summer sun sits high in the sky, it’s time to head to the water to cool off. These Vermont swimming holes are local to the Stratton and Manchester area. Take a few steps out to dip your toes, float on an inner tube as you take in the Green Mountains from behind your sunglasses, or rent a kayak from First Run Sports in the Village and get your paddle on for some water centric fitness. For rest and relaxation or water fun and fitness, check out any of these local swimming holes to cool off in when the heat is on.

Emerald Lake State Park

Located in Dorset, Vermont, this 430 acre Park along the side of Dorset Mountain offers picnicking, camping, showers, swimming, refreshments, bathhouse, nature trails, and excellent bass fishing.

Jamaica State Park

Located in Jamaica, Vermont on the West River, this Park offers a swimming area, picnic shelter, nature center, camping, showers, footpaths, and trout fishing.

Townshend State Park

Located in Townshend, Vermont at the foot of Bald Mountain on a bend of the West River, this Park offers swimming, picnicking, camping and more.

Shaftsbury State Park

Located within the 2800 acre Bomoseen State Forest with hiking trails, limited swimming, great fishing and more is a relatively small Park.

Grout Pond

This beautiful and secluded pond is located in the middle of the Green Mountains and circled with wooded campsites that are best accessed by canoe.

Dorset Quarry

First mined in 1785, this massive 60-foot-deep swimming hole makes for a fun day in the sun.
